Every project presents new, exciting creative to technical opportunities for the Encore scenic team, who brings dreams to life for customers at each event. This time, we were asked to construct a masterful stage for an audience of 500 people in just 13 days, including transporting it from Quintana Roo to Yucatán, ensuring it was set up and ready for the session.

The Challenge
In the month our technology customer made their quick-turn request, the Mexico scenic and stage design team assigned to this project had 27 other stage constructions for various events occurring simultaneously. To build a stage set like this with over 60 constructed pieces on short notice with 13 days to deliver that included the transportation, it was a true feat given the needed construction resourcing and time. Ensuring sufficient human and materials for this exciting, last-minute project, along with all the other overlapping scenic build and logistics work for other customer events, amplified the complexity of the situation.
The Solution
Marino jumped into action forming different scenic work teams to ensure efficient organization, logistics and production to support all the stage construction projects in the workshop. By dividing the work and having teams focus on specific build activities, they were able to accommodate all the stage set work while maintaining effective communication with all the different areas of the company involved across them all.
The Result
Despite time constraints and nighttime travel by road, the scenic materials and equipment reached the venue location, where the assembly team installed the stage and made it all happen to specifications with an impressive stage impact to the customer’s delight. The stage was so spectacular that one conference participant may potentially become a new customer, requesting a similar stage for their next event stating, “The stage was spectacular. I want to work with Encore Mexico for my next event.”
